What If You’re Not Bad at Business—You’re Just Doing It Wrong (for You)?

Let’s Talk About Working With Your Energy (Instead of Against It)

We’ve all been fed the same formula: Show up every day. Post 5x a week. Grind it out. But here’s the thing—not everyone is designed to work that way.

Human Design breaks us down into five energy types, and each one has a different way of working:

  • Generators & Manifesting Generators → You’re here to follow what excites you. If you’re forcing work that drains you, it’s gonna be a nope real quick.

  • Projectors (👋 hey, that’s me) → You’re built to guide others, not grind for 12 hours a day. Efficiency and REST is the name of the game.

  • Manifestors → You need creative freedom. No one should be telling you what to do, and the second they try? You’re out.

  • Reflectors → Your magic is in your adaptability. Your environment and the people around you matter a lot.

If you’re pushing against your natural work style, it’s no wonder you’re exhausted. The goal isn’t to “fix” how you work—it’s to build your business in a way that actually works for you.

Decision Fatigue? Yeah, That’s Probably Misalignment Too.

Raise your hand if you overthink every (business) decision. 🙋‍♀️

(Same.)

Turns out, we all have a built-in decision-making system—our Human Design authority—but most of us ignore it. Instead, we:
-Poll five different people before making a choice.
-Second-guess ourselves into oblivion.
-Make decisions based on what worked for someone else instead of what works for us.

Here’s what happens when you actually trust your authority:
-You make quicker, more confident decisions.
-You stop wasting energy on things that don’t serve you.
-You feel so much lighter in your business.

For example, my Projector self has Splenic Authority, which means my gut instincts are always right, even when I can’t logically explain why. Once I started trusting my first instinct instead of spiraling into overthinking, my business (and life) became so much easier.

Marketing That Feels Like You

You don’t have to follow a marketing playbook that makes you want to throw your laptop out the window.

Here’s how different energy types naturally show up best:

  • Generators & MGs → Show up consistently. Answer your audience’s questions. Let your excitement fuel your content.

  • Projectors → Share your expertise, wait for the right opportunities, and don’t force visibility—it’ll come. Find the balance between letting people know you exist, and waiting for the right people to find you.

  • Manifestors → Take the lead, shake things up, and don’t be afraid to do things your way.

  • Reflectors → Your perspective is your superpower. Build deep, meaningful connections instead of trying to go viral.

When you market in a way that aligns with your energy, it feels natural, not forced. And when something feels natural? You actually want to do it.

Avoiding Burnout = Long-Term Success

If you’re exhausted from running your business, you’re probably working in a way that doesn’t serve you. That’s the bottom line.

Real talk:

  • You don’t have to be in constant hustle mode to succeed.

  • You don’t have to work in the same way as everyone else.

  • You don’t have to feel like you’re forcing yourself to keep up.

When you align your business with your energy, you:
-Work smarter, not harder. (Seriously though, not just the phrase but in real life.)
-Show up in a way that feels right.
-Build a business that’s sustainable long-term.
