INTRODUCING A NEW SERIES: 30 SECOND TRAVEL GUIDES.
Because who has time to read flowery reviews of everything? Expect honesty. And short posts.
This week we head to Denver.
Denver in the winter is rough. The best thing to do is brewery hop and eat. It seemed like no one was out in the city which was weird when you’re a solo traveller. If you go there in the winter, head to the mountains. Summer is definitely the time you want to go visit Denver.
The Source Hotel RINO is everything you want in a hotel and so much more.
Honestly, we didn’t want to leave the hotel premises. With two breweries on site, four restaurants, a rooftop pool and hot tub with views of the Rockies, and Peloton bikes in the gym why would we? And bonus, the robes were SUPER cozy.
The Woods is the rooftop restaurant at The Source Hotel. Honestly. This was the least expensive meal we had and the most tasty. We even had leftovers, that were better the day after.
Pho-natic is a dive near the capital with authentic pho to warm you up when it dips below 10 degrees Fahrenheit. Honestly it’s fast, it’s comforting, it’s a great place to people watch.
Doppio Cafe was my working spot while in Denver. It’s honestly in a sketchy part of town - lots of homeless people - and the building is kind of weird. But the avocado toast was (insert Italian kissing fingers).
I was lucky to be in town for First Saturday at the Denver Art Museum so I got to go for free. Sadly the Dior exhibit was sold out for weeks so I missed out. Honestly, I had a blast making my own art (like the child I am) and the building itself is a work of architectural art.
I’m a Crossfitter and love to check out local boxes. Crossfit Colfax welcomed me with open arms. If you Crossfit, pop in and say hi. Coaches are approachable and form is important to them.
The end of the trip was marked by a pretty massive snow storm, and that made our visit to the Garden of the Gods even more magical. Nature is powerful and this place is proof.
BREWERIES. BREWERIES. BREWERIES. Denver is home to over 80 breweries. Find a local one and go!
